Worbla's Black Art is a non-toxic sheet plastic, black in color with a texture similar to fine grit sandpaper or leather. Black Art can take complex curves without requiring a vacuform or subtractive editing and is self adhesive when activated.

Worbla's Black Art activates at 85°C or 185°F. We generally suggest heating with a heat gun. Black Art has a working period of minutes, depending on the thickness of the working piece and ambient room temperature. Once cool, pieces are rigid and strong. Worbla's Black Art can be heated endlessly and has no shelf life.

There is no waste with Black Art because your scraps can be heated, conditioned, and 100% re-blended. These leftovers can be molded to act just like putty, and many artists use Worbla's Black Art instead of clay to create near-indestructible pieces.

The main differences between Black Art compared to Finest or Pearly Art:

Black Art is Smoother than Finest Art
Black Art is Stretchier and Stickier than Pearly Art
(and obvious color differences apply)

If you have any questions you can always contact us and we'll do our best to guide you to the right Worbla for your project. Find more information on this product at Worbla.com

Note for return customers: Black Art 2.0 is a reformulation of the original Black Art. The new formula is much stickier, stretchier, and stronger. The smell has also changed and has been described as like like caramel/burnt sugar/soy sauce/roasted almonds, depending on the nose. You may want to unpack and let orders breathe for a few days before working with it if you are sensitive to scents.

The extra adhesive is great for many builds, but may cause issues if you like to be able to adjust placement of sculpted details as Black Art 2.0 will bond even with light pressure. Please refer to this breakdown on the Worbla.com webpage to see the differences in the formula.

Additional gallery images are work made using Black Art and are not for sale, featuring Armoredheart and PerlerTricks
