Worbla's Kobracast Art B-Grade
These are B-Grade versions of Kobracast Art. The laminate is different compared to normal Kobracast. Please reference below before purchasing.
These B-Grade sheets are shiny and smooth compared to normal Kobracast. We aren't sure what caused the effect - the manufacturer may not have heated the sheets enough for the plastic adhesive to penetrate the mesh, or there might simply be too much of the adhesive on the sheet.
We've tested these sheets and they act/react just like normal Kobracast in sewing, ironing, and heat gun tests, but we can't say for certain that they will work exactly like standard Kobracast in your specific application. The sheets also feel slightly thicker than normal Kobracast, so if you are using a mix of both you might notice a difference in stability.
We'd suggest these sheets for folks looking to experiment - if you need a guaranteed result, please purchase our standard Kobracast Sheets. We will not accept returns for this product.
GENERAL KOBRACAST INFO
Worbla's Kobracast Art is a lightweight stretchable gauze fabric layered with a thermal adhesive, about as thick as cardstock or bristol board.
Heat activated (approx. 80-90 C / 175-195 F) Worbla's Kobracast Art can be shaped by hand or over a mold. It can be re-activated as often as you like and all leftovers can be re-used so there is almost no waste.
Kobracast Art is very sticky when activated and is used most often as a form of shapeable, sewable, washable interfacing for hats, collars, and complex fabric shapes. You can use it for permanent pleats, ruffles, and other fabric manipulation that will hold through multiple wears without needing to be refreshed.
