Part 2 on Worbla and 3D prints! For items where you need a semi complex shape like a dagger and you are not confident in making it out of foam, or you already have the print but you do not have the time or ability to sand/smooth/finish it, Worbla is an option for a quick surface fix. You can also save time by printing a shape, then using the Worbla for engraving details by hand, rather than trying to add to a print if you are not as familiar with the software or want to customize something. It will also add strength to a print. It does eat up a lot of printed details that you will need to sculpt back in (similar to how you would do so for layered foam) so generally I would suggest working with more simple surfaces than complex ones. It also adds thickness to a print so you want to keep that in mind for very fine detailed pieces. You can overheat your print if you are working with the Worbla on top, and flat shapes like a dagger can warp - so work in short bursts of heat in targeted areas! Overall I think this is specifically useful for folks who can't easily sand for health or time reasons, or when you want to add details to a print you already have. This won't replace using foam and Worbla for normal builds, nor standard filler and sanding for 3D printing options. #worbla #worblablackart #cosplaytutorial #3dprinting

We've been asked a few times about using Worbla with 3D printing as an alternative to sanding/resin and finally had a chance to do some experiments. We really liked the outcome with this skull mask and the whole process took less than 30 minutes, including the (rough) paintjob. While we would *not* suggest this for detailed prints, if you are dealing with more general organic shapes, you can work with a low resolution and less fill: the Worbla will give you a surface you can still easily texture and sculpt on, and adds strength to the print. #worbla #worblapearlyart #3dprinting #cosplaytutorial

Worbla's Deco Art and other pellet plastics are often suggested for use for fangs in cosplay.
